  • Hot Topics

Every blog automatically gets more traffic if it talks about:

    - Relationships. Everyone seems to be lost, and wants someone to tell them what to do.
    - Profanity/Bathroom humor. This is the lowest of the low, but for some reason, throw the word "FART" into a blog post, and it's hilarious. This issue alone caused me to stop visiting ASM.
    - Race or racism. Bonus points if you mention Asians. Extra bonus points if you mention race and relationships.
    - Body image. Everyone wants to be told they're beautiful.
    - Advice (non-relationship related). People rec these because they're important, even if the writing isn't that original. Lotta Valdez is famous for some actually really great ones (I think she got featured for a "how to deal with bill collectors" a while back), and there was one on Momaroo about child abuse.
    - Religion. Express an opinion one way or the other, and people automatically flock to disagree with you. (Particularly: abortion, homosexuality)
    - Sex. Who doesn't like to read about/talk about/have sex?
    - The readers. If there's an opportunity to let the reader blab about her own life or experience, she is going to take it. Everyone loves to talk about himself.

    And, a little eye candy:

That's my black-hispanic biracial boyfriend trying to eat my now-medium-length brown hair. We are beautiful non-theists who like to have sex. We also go to the bathroom, but usually not together. You should have a relationship, too! Why aren't you in a homoreligious, interracial, beautiful, sexual relationship in which you can make bathroom jokes?

(Okay, sorry guys. It's almost 5 AM. What did you expect?)

    ...Wait, wait. Before you go:

If a woman is carrying a gay baby, does that make it okay for her to have an abortion?

  • People like to talk about topics that stir the point.  I guess I could agree on it attracting more traffic, too.

  • eh? I am not sure about the sex thing. lol I dont get recs when I post up lewd stories.

  • @nomdeinternet - Well, generally people still want some level of social acceptability. It's much more acceptable to talk about sex in a vague sense than it is to read porn.

Besides, that's generally neither providing room for discussion nor giving people actual information that (they think) will make them better in bed.

  • I think I've written this post a dozen times before, but I lack the cleavage.

    SUDDENLY ALL IS ILLUMINATED

  • Haha. This was nice.

    You two are so cute

  • Why did your BF add me on FB?

  • @Bobby - Oh, my bad. That was me. <_<

  • If you take all those out, what would we write about?

I would like to talk about buildings every now and then, but those are actually some of the posts where people didn't even bother to look.
If she's carrying a gay baby, because of discrimination, it is not okay for her to have the abortion. This one cause that I'm willing to fight pro-life on, even though I'm usually pro-choice.
  • @awokenfatality - We could write fiction. We could write about experiences in our own lives and how they have touched us. We could write about economics. We could write about biology or technology or mathematics. We could write about cooking or nature or books we've read. There's a lot besides what's on that list.

  • @awokenfatality - I'm curious now about the abortion deal. Explain your reasoning?

  • You are right on. I try to write about my own interests but it is tempting to write for the masses. But then again I am boring either way, long academic post or short emotional one. Same difference.

  • I love that last question lol. You forgot to add "Xanga" to the list of things that automatically get more traffic lol.

  • Answer:
Only if the fetus refuses to repent for its sins...

    Psalms 137:9

"Blessed be he that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock."

    'Nuff said...

  • @AlterEgo909 - Oh, no, I swore off meta-blogging a long time ago.

  • traffic is traffic.
The reason my posts are a lot about race, is because it becomes too often an issue where I live, sometimes without me realizing it. When someone is being racist towards me, I usually just think they're being assholes, until I find out that they were.
relationships and relationshits will always be a hit. it seems as if everyone can relate to it...

I made a post titled "This Post is About Sex", just to intentionally see how many comments I could get. and the turnout was quite good.

I've troll posted too on occasions. those are fun.

  • @la_faerie_joyeuse - Then we'll have people complaining about that. Experiences on our lives are life lessons and it falls under the category of Advice. There's a a lot of things, but all that matters is what our readers like? To say that you don't write for others on blog is a total lie. Because why blog when there's journals and you can keep your thoughts to yourself? We want people to read it, and those are the hot topics. And who doesn't love comments.

The way I see abortions is because: 1. You can not support the child, 2. It was from a rape incident, 3. Damage to ones health or the fetus'. Selfishness, I do not like so much. Yes, it is one's body, but if you have a very good job and are past your prime and pregnant, there is no good reason to get an abortion other then being selfish and wanting to always live the high life. At least, that is my opinion. To abort a baby because it is gay or part of any ethnic culture due to the father it is discrimination. If a women who is not black, had too much drinks and had unprotected sex with a black man ended up pregnant decided to abort the baby because she didn't want any one with a darker complexion is discrimination. As much as humanity likes to hate, we as people are not worth by what we are. Be it sex, ethnic background, income, height, etc. We are measured by the decisions we make in this world.  I just find it morally wrong.
  • AWWWW YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!! I am glad you posted this blod.

If a woman is carrying a gay baby (i'm expecting this is a joke were jesus and a priest walk in to a bar....but its not) is it okay for her to have an abortion?

I think most religious anti-gay people would say you have to carry the baby to term, then shun him for the rest of his life. If they find there is a gene that determines if you are gay and people can test for it before birth and avoid the situation then maybe a lot of people otherwise against abortion would get one if they are homophobic.

Personally, I think abortion is wrong if you know that you can support the child emotionally and financially. If you have a gay baby pat yourself on the back and hope you do a better job than some homophobic fuck-wad (sorry to the homophobic fuck-wads out there...not really).

If you think killing someone because he/she is gay is okay, you should probably seek thereapy.

  • Traffic requires subscribers... something that caucasian males who won't compromise their integrity for attention have a hard time coming by. ;)

  • @Peachass - Personally I think if you don't want it, you could always give it to a gay couple...

  • adoption is a great option! It is so great to see adopted kids put in to loving homes. I think that is one of the best options.... when it happens.

  • Yes! You should definitely abort gay babies. And this is how to do it

  • lmao

    comment last=massive cheering up

  • Huge Props!

This is one of the best sites I've seen in awhile. You should write for some television shows, -  the ones that need some talent to save their sorry asses. I had coffee coming out of my eyes a minute ago I was laughing so hard. Thanks for the humor. I sure needed some today.
